Kilomanjaro - 1979

Rest break on day 2. The climb was 3.5 days up and 1.5 days back down. The yellow container is kerosene. We were all loaned hiking sticks when we left the hotel the first day.

Giraffe. Note the style of the spots. Another species has spots with smooth edges.

Elephant. I like this one because of the three sizes of elephants, baby, teenager and adult.

Lioness. Yes we were really that close. Totally safe within a Land Rover but close.

Serengetti Lodge. The lodge is neat because it was built around a copse (pile of large rocks) in the middle of the Serengetti.
